About Excellum

Excellum is specialised in light controls systems for buildings and a subsidiary of the ETAP group. Excellum's aim is to reduce the energy consumption of new or existing lighting installations to a minimum, and at the same time increase the comfort of the lighting. Excellum provides comprehensive service from specification and configuration to installation and maintenance.

Conventional attempts to create energy-efficient lighting usually do not go further than switching the lighting on or off using occupancy sensors or relay circuits. However, these are unilateral strategies that do not take into account factors such as the available daylight, changing building uses and personal lighting preferences. In addition, they are often detrimental to user comfort.

Advanced energy management systems are the future with regard to minimising the power consumption of lighting. Excellum is continuously developing these systems, and actively promotes a sustainable and environmentally-friendly approach to building design.
