Healthcare specialist Terumo Europe recently had the lighting in its Leuven-based buildings updated. Old fluorescent lighting made way for economical, sustainable LED lighting in both offices and production areas. In figures: Terumo employees now work under an extremely comfortable 800 lux, with an installed load of 0.83W/m2/100lux.
In the spacious open-plan offices, U7 recessed luminaires ensure bright, fresh spaces with LED+LENSTM optics supporting the new interior design.
In the production areas, they opted for U2 luminaires, suitable for cleanroom applications. "For this project, the U2 diffusers were adapted to a double format, tailored to the existing sandwich panel isocop ceiling," according to Patrick Ulenaers, Project Manager Facility. 'A major advantage is that this new lighting is accessible from the top - through the ceiling - so that the production process is not disrupted in case of maintenance,' adds Patrick Ulenaers.
In addition, K1 luminaires ensure safe evacuation in the event of a power outage or emergency.
The vintage emergency lighting luminaires in the non-renovated rooms and corridors attest to ETAP's longstanding commitment to long service life and quality. They have been in use for decades and still work flawlessly.
