The German city of Eberswalde opened a new two-storey bicycle parking facility in 2022. The realisation is part of a broader strategy for sustainable mobility where bicycle traffic provides an important interpretation. The bicycle parking facility is close to the main train station and provides space for over 600 bicycles.
Durable lighting for optimum safety
The city of Eberswalde chose ETAP because of its focus on energy efficiency and sustainable products that fit its vision of environmentally friendly transport solutions. As the lighting is operational 24/7, reliability and low energy consumption is of great importance. The lighting contributes directly to the safety of the bicycle parking area, both during the day and at night.
Wide-beam light distribution with E6 luminaires
ETAP supplied a total of 103 E6 luminaires for this project. Diffuse and wide-angle light distribution characterises the E6 range. The result ? Uniform lighting in the cycle shed, which significantly increases user safety In addition, the luminaires offer high energy efficiency, contributing to lower energy consumption even in continuous operation.
Robust and durable design
The E6 luminaires stand out for their robustness and durability. The strong polycarbonate housing is impact-resistant (IK07) and protects the lighting against external influences such as dust, water (IP66) and exhaust fumes, which is essential at Eberswalde's mobility hub. In addition, the luminaires have a long service life. After 50,000 burning hours, the light output is still 99%. This keeps maintenance costs low and guarantees reliable lighting in the long term.
