Stuifduin Crematorium is located at the municipal cemetery in the Norbert Neeckxlaan in Lommel in Belgium and is owned by intermunicipal PONTES.
The construction process of the new Lommel Crematorium van started at the end of 2016. This was the start of what would become an impressive and eye-catching building, ready to open its doors at the end of April 2018. The result is there: a high-quality farewell centre, integrated into its natural environment.
The crematorium was designed by a2o architect Luc Vanmuysen, who clearly emphasized nature and tranquility. He suggested integrating the building into the natural environment and thereby assigning an important role to nature. The design underlines the power of nature and the transparency of the building enhances the serenity of the environment. The landscape is beautiful and invites the visitor to join another world, where he can enjoy the pine forest and the heath. Here you can hardly help but wonder, respect and feel humbled by your surrounding nature.
