The Delftse Poort office building is an iconic landmark in the centre of Rotterdam. In 2023, two floors were renovated for the arrival of a new tenant. To create a sense of openness and connection, a void was added between the two floors. This architectural intervention added complexity to the lighting design due to the different ceiling types and heights.
Customisation for every situation
The lighting had to be adapted to both the strip grid ceiling and the installed climate islands. Despite the variation in ceiling types and different heights, the lighting had to comply with the applicable standards. The customisation of ETAP's advanced LED+LENSTM technology provided the appropriate solution.
Extra challenges, extra flexibility
The construction of the void required a flexible lighting solution ETAP supplied custom-made U7 LED+LENSTM recessed luminaires where the length of the luminaires, the number of lenses and the luminous flux were specifically adapted to the various situations This also took into account the mechanical possibilities of integrating the luminaires in the various ceilings.
Collaboration leads to success
The integration of the luminaires into the climate ceilings was made possible by a close collaboration between ETAP and Verwol, which was responsible for their installation. This collaboration ensured that the lighting was perfectly integrated both aesthetically and technically, despite the additional challenges.
A uniform and efficient working environment
The custom-made lighting not only creates an energy-efficient solution, but also ensures a uniform and professional appearance in the rooms. This creates a pleasant and productive working environment in which the flexibility of ETAP's customised solutions is clearly evident.
