Proper and well-thought-out lighting in a production facility is key. The production plants of Hungarian brewery Dreher (a division of Japanese holding Asahi) were until recently lit using metal halide and fluorescent luminaires. Bulbs had to be replaced on a regular basis. As the luminaires above the production boilers and lines are difficult to reach, production had to be halted every time. This is obviously counter-productive for the brewery's operation and efficiency.
Opting for quality
Hungary's best-known brewery went in search of a partner able to increase lighting levels, lower energy consumption and reduce maintenance interruptions across eight buildings. Dreher put its trust in ETAP and our Hungarian partner Fénysport Lux Kft because of our quality reputation.
ETAP suggested the E8, a powerful luminaire ideal for high spaces and extremely suitable for companies working with a food safety management system such as HACCP. The E8's triangular design does not allow dust to accumulate on the luminaires. The luminaires are easy to install and require little maintenance. The relighting into LED lighting - with a long service life - makes lamp replacements a thing of the past. If a defect does nonetheless occur, the driver can be easily replaced thanks to the extendable headpiece.
Excellent results
ETAP calculated that relighting all eight buildings results in a 51% drop in lighting energy consumption. In absolute figures, that is approximately 189000 kWh annually. In addition, lighting levels have increased. In the bottling plant, for example, the lighting level increased from 241 to 376 lux. Hence the brewery gets more for less.
This achievement was possible thanks to the brilliant collaboration between ETAP and our Hungarian partner Fénysport Lux Kft.
