Due to the ban on fluorescent lamps and the ambition to save energy, the lighting in the Innovation Park of a leading telecommunications company in Düsseldorf had to be replaced.

A classic renovation was out of the question: the metal slatted ceiling was not to be damaged or modified. Where others wanted to modify the ceiling, ETAP was able to work with what was already there.

Renovation while retaining ceiling and installation

ETAP offered a circular solution tailored to the existing situation:

  • In the offices, showroom and coffee rooms, ETAP replaced the old light source and reflector with a new U7 LED+LENSTM module, directly in the existing luminaire housing. The characteristic metal louvre ceiling therefore did not have to be modified anywhere.
     
  • ETAP installed D4 downlights in the corridors. The downlights with LED technology fitted exactly into the existing openings. They use the same LED+LENSTM technology as the U7 modules, ensuring a uniform lighting experience throughout the building.
     
  • For the technical areas, such as server rooms, the client chose E6 luminaires. They are specially designed for low ceilings and provide wide, uniform light distribution. They thus provide a reliable lighting solution for places where brightness and durability are essential.
     

The offices remained in use as usual during installation. Because ETAP reused the existing luminaires and cabling, there was no breaking work, dust or noise nuisance. The result: a fast, circular LED renovation with energy savings and no impact on the building or its users.

Why this client chooses ETAP

Other suppliers required modifications to the ceiling or replacement of the entire luminaires. ETAP, on the other hand, was able to offer an efficient LED refurbishment without any breaking or disruption.  

To guarantee that the new LED modules would fit perfectly into the existing luminaires, ETAP first developed customised prototypes. This allowed the client to see and test in advance what the solution would look like and how smooth the installation would be. The prototypes were available within a few weeks, giving the client quick assurance of technical and aesthetic feasibility.
